Rashtriya Kishore Vaigyanik Sammelan (RKVS)
The National Children Science Congress (NCSC) also known as the Rashtriya Kishore Vaigyanik Sammelan (RKVS) has been a major event of the Indian Science Congress with the primary objective of providing a platform to the budding scientists to showcase their interest and talent in research work to solve locally experienced problems through science projects. It provides a unique learning platform for students across the country in the age group of 10 to 17 years.
Through the several activities organized, this forum encourages children to cultivate a scientific temperament and a questioning mind that will equip them to identify day-to-day problems encountered by the community around them, appreciate the root cause and try to solve the same by using various scientific processes. It encourages them to take ownership of such problem-solving activities from a very young age, builds other skills and attributes like communication skills, collaborative skills, team work, perseverance, analytical reasoning and creative problem-solving.

The RKVS at SIU endeavours to bring together students, school teachers, researchers and various stakeholders on a common platform to share their expertise and discuss a variety of issues - primarily to generate a scientific temperament. This platform shall also be used for presenting awards and certificates for outstanding contributions and various competitions that will be held before and during the course of the event.
